Manage Lower Back Pain with Chiropractic Care

Pain is our body’s way of warning us that our body is not working correctly.  Lower back pain or backache is a very common symptom in our society. Everyone in their life suffers for lower back pain at some point of their lives. Whether you’re at job that requires sitting for long periods or a more physical job which requires lifting and physical labor, you may even experience backache if you’re just a weekend warrior on the sports field or you’re helping some friends move furniture.

What does lower back pain mean for you?

Although lower back pain may initially start as a discomfort, it can easily jump in severity, making it feel like you’re back is locked or spasmed rendering you unable to move or restricting your movement severely.

Having lower back pain or backache can seriously ruin your day. It may not feel like a lot and you may think I can deal with the pain or live on pain killers for a few weeks.

But what actually happens inside the body when pain is not dealt with correctly?

Firstly, pain or symptoms are generally the last line of defense. When your body tenses/tightens the muscles causing that stiff/ tight achy discomfort your body; it already can’t handle the day to day stress that you’re place on it. It’s your body’s way of telling you this is too much, I need some help.

Symptoms /pain are your body’s way of telling you that there is dysfunction within your body.  Like the check engine light in your car, the problem isn’t the light bulb or the symptoms; it’s the engine which isn’t functioning properly, causing that light to turn on.

There is a good chance down the line that the engine will start losing power or completely shut down. Which means an either a new car or an expensive repair bill for the owner.  Unfortunately, the repair isn’t as simple in our bodies.

We only have one spine for our entire life.

When the check engine light in our bodies comes on; our body desperately tries to manage the extra stress by redirecting the stress on to other areas of the body. Generally when the big stabilizer muscles of your lower back have had too much load and cannot cope any more, it redirects load/ pressure to other big muscle of your back. This is why you’ll start to notice other areas of your body start to give you trouble. In between the shoulders and base of the neck are the most common areas.

If left unmanaged, the muscles start to over stretch and small tears start occurring. Leading other structure becoming compromised (ligaments, discs, bones, nerves), with other structures being compromised your pain patterns change these are the most common symptoms.

  • Pain traveling to buttocks, legs, and feet
  • Pain that worsens after sitting for prolonged periods
  • Pain that feels better when changing positions
  • Pain that is worse after waking up and better after moving around.

How Can ChiroMotion Help?

Chiropractors focus on the relationship between the brain and body. This intermit relationship controls every aspect of your body. From waking you up to grabbing that first cup of coffee in the morning all the way to when it’s time to wine down for the night. This relationship is heavily dependant on the connection from the brain to the spine. Without the spine the messages from the brain won’t be able to connect to body. Like your home wifi router and internet.  If the connection isn’t strong, it severely impairs your ability to fully access the internet.

What does this mean in your body? Well just like the wifi router and internet, if the connection is disturbed or there is interference between the signals! If the brain doesn’t know what’s happening in the body it will contract the muscle to protect itself. This protection mechanism is perceived as pain.

Chiropractors analyze spine to locate these areas of nervous interference; correct them so that your body has the ability to fully function at its best ability and relieving the source of your lower back pain so you can continue enriching your lifestyle.
